Pastor of Students
James Summerlin has been a part of of ministry family for all of his life, growing up in a pastors home and living in Alabama and Kentucky before he received the call to ministry when he was 16.
He met his wife while attending Union University and after they married, they started their ministry journey in New Orleans, where James got his Masters of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While in New Orleans, James spent two and a half years working at the Times-Picayune in the sports section and then he took on the sports editor position at the Hammond Daily Star.
The Summerlin family came to Dade City in the summer of 2018 after serving as a youth minister in Louisiana.
James enjoys sports, especially football and hockey, and he roots on the Nashville Predators, New Orleans Saints and Alabama Crimson Tide.
James and Rachel have two children, Roman and Hadley.
